Today's entry models the following events:
- Samuel goes to Lewis Phillips' house, but is away in Huntingdon.
- Samuel rides to Huntingdon, where he drinks with Phillips and Tom Trice.
- He returns to Brampton with Tom Trice, who goes to Goody Gorham's alehouse whilst Samuel returns to dine with his father.
- Samuel and his father join Trice in the alehouse.
- Samuel intends to ride to London, but the poor roads force him to stop at Baldwick.
- He visits the church in Baldwick, and comments on the Quakers.
- He dines and takes a room for the night in Baldwick.
The only point of note is the creation of an Inn topic type; differentiated from taverns in that inns offer lodging.
